Welcome reception hosted by the French government in honor of French-American cultural exchange.

Gala opening night performance of Miami City Ballet

Special tribute to George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins:

Symphony in Three Movements (Balanchine-Stravinsky)

Afternoon of a Faun (Robbins-Debussy)

Tarantella (Balanchine-Gottschalk)

Ballet Imperial (Balanchine-Tchaikovsky)

 

A seated dinner will follow the performance in the Grand Foyer of the Théatre du Chatelet.

Thursday, July 7
Day

Departure for the Château de Versailles. Private visit of the Petit Trianon Palace, Marie-Antoinette’s theater and an exhibition of sculptures by Bernard Venet in the gardens.

 

Lunch in Versailles.

Evenin
Cocktail reception to reopen the Salon Florence Gould following its renovation by the Florence Gould Foundation.

 

Performance of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte at the Opéra National de Paris/Palais Garnier. Conductor: Philippe Jordan; with Elza Van Den Heever, Karine Deshayes, Matthew Polenzani and Paulo Szot; Orchestra and chorus of the Paris Opera.

 

A buffet dinner will be served in the Salon Florence Gould during intermission and following the performance.

Friday, July 8
Day Luncheon at the Hotel de Talleyrand, an historic 18th century landmark, designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel.
Evening

Performance at the Opéra National de Paris/Bastille of the Paris Opera Ballet’s world premiere of L’Anatomie de la Sensation with choreography by Wayne McGregor and music by Mark Anthony Turnage.

 

Dinner with dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet and the Miami City Ballet will follow the performance in the theater’s Foyer Panoramique.

Saturday, July 9
Day Departure for a country lunch in a private home near Paris.
Evening

Performance of Miami City Ballet at the Théatre du Chatelet:

Square Dance (Balanchine-Corelli/Vivaldi)

The Four Temperaments (Balanchine/Hindemith)

In the Upper Room (Tharp/Glass)

 

Farewell dinner at a traditional French bistro.
